Was able to get a room at short notice, the owner and his wife are very hospitable. Good representation of Grand Isle, has everything you need, nothing fancy. Grill, boiling station, and fish cleaning station available. Wear long sleeves or bug spray when cooking outside at night. Smallish rooms but kitchen in some rooms. Would definitely stay again
Friendly, easy-going staff. Big swimming pool and walking distance to beach. Kitchenettes are a plus for people who want to stay a few days or longer. Loved it!!!
This is just OK kind of hotel. We are 3 adults with 2 kids visited NEW ORLEANS for Christmas holidays. As part of our trip we visit to GRAND ISLE to see white sand beach and to enjoy nature. We stayed here one night and took room with 4 beds. The bathroom is really congested and small. The only advantage is being have kitchen. It has equipped kitchen with gas stove, fridge and dining table Pros: 1. In built kitchen ( selected rooms only) 2. Quiet environment Cons: 1. Expensive ( $100 per night) 2. Bathroom is small
I've stayed here twice in 1 year. My future husband & I refuse to go anywhere else. Very clean room, nice staff. Our room wasn't ready when we told them we'd be there, so they have us a very nice discount & let us have a late checkout next day. Our kids enjoyed the pool immensely, the loved the bunk beds and the fact they had their own room. We will never ever go to another hotel as long as The Tropical is open & available.
We loved staying here, it has everything you need! A full kitchen in the room, bbq pit, a place to boil craw fish and a pool! Not to mention it's only a hundred feet to the beach! Perfect! We will be coming back for sure!!!
The Tropical Motel is the best motEl to stay in grand isle. It's perfectly located with the best beach access point on the island. I also noticed it is the only motel on the island with a pool. They have a fish cleaning station with propane provided free with the room. After staying at other motels located in grand isle the tropical is easily my first choice every time.
Been coming here for over 30 years. Great family hotel and easy access to the beach. It’s by no means is anything fancy, it is more of a fishing camp atmosphere on a wonderful little island. Don’t go here with the idea of Florida, you will be highly disappointed. It is our family of 7 favorite peaceful little vacation spot.
nice owners and very friendly. we felt like family when we was there. the rooms are very nice and clean. they offer free ice and free wifi. Not to mention its the only motel with a pool.. its all around an amazing place to bring the family. its just 100 yards from the beach.
